Fall Festival:  Save the date for the Blackhawk Neighborhood Fall Festival on Sunday, September 20, from 2:00 - 5:30 PM. Located in Swallowtail Park, this family friendly event will feature live music, a magic show, face painting, games, food, crafts, and much more! Please keep an eye out for the invitation via email.

Blackhawk Neighborhood Alert !!

During the month of July 2015, two homes in our neighborhood were burglarized.  One incident occurred on Swallowtail Drive and the other occurred on Settlers Road.  We are working to get more details regarding the incident on Swallowtail Drive; however, we do have additional information regarding the incident on Settlers Road.

City of Madison Budget Conversation

The City of Madison will hold a Community Budget Conversation on July 14 at 6 pm at the Central Library, Room 301. Please plan on attending this informative discussion where you will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the 2016 budget to Mayor Soglin and the city staff. You can find more details of this meeting here.
 
Emerald Ash Borer's Impact on Madison Trees

We would like to bring your attention to the arrival of the deadly Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in the Madison area and the city's plan to deal with it. Unfortunately, almost 10,000 of the estimated 21,000 Ash trees that line the city streets are scheduled to be removed. Read more about the City Forester's take on it here.
 
You can also find more information about how to identify an Ash tree and some tips on how to manage an EAB infestation on the UW-Madison's Extension department's website. Please consult with a landscaping professional/tree expert for further guidance.
